Douglas M. Zirk, 59


Douglas Michael "Mick" Zirk, 59, of Martinsburg, W.Va., and formerly of Moorefield, W.Va., died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Mr. Zirk was born June 2, 1947, in Petersburg, W.Va., and was the son of the late Marvin S. and Lena B. Sherman Zirk.

He was a past member of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company-46 and the Stephens City Volunteer Fire Company for many years and was the owner/operator of Bedington Crossroads.

His wife, Toni Finks Zirk, survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Elyssa Jenkins of Woodstock and Lauren Zirk of Fairmont, W.Va.; a brother, Jason Zirk of Moorefield, W.Va., and a grandson.

The Rev. Patricia Garner will conduct the funeral 1 p.m. Monday at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va. Burial with a fireman’s motorcade will be in the Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial gathering will also be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedington Ruritan Club.
