Dennis Paul Yager, 79, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Hawksbill Assisted Living.
He was born on April 15, 1944, in Stanley and was a son of the late Paul Yager and Mattie Jones Yager.
Dennis retired from Merck with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the Bethlehem Independent Christian
Church in Stanley and attended the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal Church.
Dennis married Hilda Fox Yager, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Tammy Ritenour and husband Darris of Stanley; two sisters, Paulina "Polly" Campbell of
Shenandoah, and Joyce Elkins of Luray; two grandchildren, Derek Williams and Stephen Williams, both of Stanley; three step
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Williams and Tulsa Williams, both of Broadway, and Derek Williams Jr. of
Stanley. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Timothy Harlow; and a sister, Louise Bear.
Amemorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, at the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal Church by Pastor
Randy Miller, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Morning Star Lutheran Cemetery in Luray.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Independent Christian Church Building Fund or to the Stanley New
Hope Pentecostal Church.
