Minnie Marie Williams Wooddell, 84, of Elkton, passed away October 25, 2023 in Harrisonburg. Mrs. Wooddell was
born October 19, 1939 in the Red Brush area of Elkton, and was the daughter of the late John Alfred and Madie Lee
Merica Williams.
She attended Bear Lithia Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and going to yard sales. She loved spending time
with family, and had worked at Wrangler, Merck and retired after many years at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
On August 28, 1965, she married Eddie Claude “Bud” Wooddell, who died March 1, 2015. Mrs. Wooddell is
survived by a brother, Millard G. Williams; and a nephew, Ray Williams; brother in laws, Jerry Swecker and wife,
Linda, Danny Swecker and wife, Vickie; sister-in-law, Kaye Swecker; and a number of nieces and nephews; and her
beloved dog, “Abby”.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with
Pastor Mark Leatherman officiating. Burial will follow in the Koontz Family Cemetery on Naked Creek.
