Peggy S. Wine, 75


Peggy Sue Thomasson Wine, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at her daughter's home in Bluffton, S.C.

Mrs. Wine was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Martinsville, and was a daughter of James Everett Thomasson and Martha Clarice Byrd Thomasson.

She attended Bassett High School and later worked for the government at Philpot Dam.

In 1956, she married Eugene Grey Wine, who preceded her in death. They were married 51 years.

Survivors include a son, James Clayton Wine of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Martha Cheryl Wine of Bluffton, S.C., and Teresa Carol Hamilton of Harrisonburg; a stepson, Eugene Grey Wine II of Roanoke; a sister, Hilda Gray Plaster, and a brother, James Marshall Thomasson, both of Oak Level; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

At Mrs. Wine's request, family and friends are invited to meet at the family home, 229 A.P. Hill Road in Martinsville Saturday, March 1, from noon to 5 p.m. for food and fellowship.
