Charles Wilson Whitlock, Sr., 72, of Port Republic, passed away on Monday May 29, 2023 in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Whitlock was born on October 29, 1950 in Rockbridge County and was a son of the late Charles Edward and
Magdalena (Chrobok) Whitlock. He worked his entire career as a truck driver. He never met a stranger. Mr. Whitlock
enjoyed watching westerns and attending horse shows. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family,
especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Charles Wilson Whitlock Jr., and wife Kelly of Port Republic, Josh Whitlock and wife
Mandy of Montana, Derrick Trobaugh and wife Verenta of Massanutten, Erick Trobaugh of Elkton, Amy Morris of
Grottoes; siblings, Carl Whitlock and wife Barbara of Staunton, Thomas Whitlock Sr., and wife Michele of Craigsville,
David Whitlock, Sr., and wife Tammy of Brandywine, WV, Mary Clark and husband Phillip of Middletown, OH, Betty
Whitlock of Craigsville, Delores Ingram of Goshen, Stella Bussard and husband Donnie of Churchville; sixteen
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitlock was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracey McDonaldson; and a brother,
Joseph Whitlock.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the Harrisonburg Chapel of Kyger Funeral
Homes. Burial will be held privately and at a later date.
Honoring Mr. Whitlock’s wishes, the body will be cremated.
