C. Glenn Wellard

Charles Glenn Wellard, 85, of Quicksburg, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Wellard was born June 13, 1917, in Forestville, and was a son of the late Jacob Lawrence and Annie Florence Hepner Wellard.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Solomon Lutheran church in Forestville and the church choir.

His wife, Nina Lee Harpine Wellard, preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1999. They were married Sept. 12, 1938.

Surviving are six daughters, Geneva Rhodes of Maurertown, Fleta Bowers of Edinburg, Judy Ritter of Woodstock, Marilyn Dellinger of Mount Jackson, Ellen Ryman of Woodstock, and Donna Neff of Broadway; six sons, Charles Wellard, Eddie Wellard and Freddie Wellard, all of Mount Jackson, James Wellard and Keith Wellard of Quicksburg, and Stanley Wellard of Woodstock; two sisters, Mary Long of Timberville, and Janice Akers May of Shenandoah; a brother, Guy Wellard of Quicksburg; and six grandchildren.

Minister Susan L. Lance will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Friday at Solomon Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Solomon Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Wellard home at any time.

Arrangements are by the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mount Jackson.
