Olie “Bardon” Warner, 88, of Blue Grass, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 19, 1934 in Riverton, WV a son of the late Emory John and Tena Catherine (Judy) Warner. On September
23, 1955 he married Dorothy “Dot” Ann Gum of Hightown.
Avery active member of his community, Bardon was a member of Hightown United Methodist Church, Blue Grass Ruritan
Club, caretaker of the Blue Grass and Hightown cemeteries, Highland County Farm Bureau and the Sheep and Wool Producers
Association.
Alife-long farmer, he enjoyed his cattle, sheep, donkeys, horses and his barn cat, “Meow.” He also built a sawmill where he
liked to spend as much time as possible. In his spare time, he could be found playing his guitar, singing his favorite songs and
playing with his band “The Blue Grass Valley Boys.” He also enjoyed tending to his honey bee hives and growing his prize-
winning potatoes. Above all, Bardon will be remembered as one to always lend a helping hand.
He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Dot Warner of Blue Grass; two daughters, Tena W. Turner and spouse, Dean of
Fishersville, Crystal W. Stephenson and spouse, Troy of Glen Allen; two sons, Robert “Barney” Bardon Warner and spouse,
Robin of Blue Grass and Timothy W. Warner and late companion, Bill Newman of Landenburg, PA; five brothers, Buddy of
Green Bank, WV, Ray of Beverly, WV, Gene of Beverly, Steve of Valley Bend, WV and Kenneth of Elkins, WV; four sisters,
Ina W. Pitsenbarger of Franklin, WV, Mary W. Tenney of Elkins, WV, Linda W. Cross of Beverly, WV and Kitty W. Ball of
Elkins, WV; three grandchildren, Jonathan C. Warner and spouse, Sara of Blue Grass, Jesse C. Warner of Pensaola, FL and
Caitlyn T. Maxfield and spouse, Ian of Zebulon, NC; two great-grandchildren, Bonnie Jean and Margo June Warner, both of
Blue Grass; aunt, Mary W. Marshall of Blue Grass; as well as his special “sidekick,”Adam Snook of Seabeck, WA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Harland “Butch” Warner, infant brother, Richard Warner; and half-
sister Marie Cobb.
Afuneral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastor George Taylor and Rev.
Andre Crummett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Rod Ritchie, Dakota Ritchie, George Smith Jr., Gary Jack, Chris Swecker, Herb Lightner, Lanny
Wimer and Mike Marshall.
Honorary pallbearers will be HaroldArbogast, Nathan Rexrode, Alvie Humphreys, Jake Colaw, Jackie Will and Junior Kimble.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Additionally, Obaugh Funeral Home’s staff will receive family
and friends wishing to pay their respects throughout the day Monday, February 13th, 9 a.m - 7 p.m.
