Mr. Via was born in Waynesboro on March 13, 1930, a son of the late Hiram
Thomas, Sr. and Bertha Viola (Bryan) Via.
He retired as Specialist E- 5 CE from the United States Army on August 28,
1970.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers Hiram
Thomas Via, Jr., David F. Via, Alfred N. Via, Joseph G. Via, Ronald F. Via;
four sisters, Eleanor V. Dickerson, Mary L. Via and Martha L. Via and Joan
D. Beverly.
Survivors include two daughters, Scherrie L. Cash , Cynthia A. Sprouse;
brother, Granville H. Via and a sister, Imogene F. Via.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023
at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Paul LaPrevotte officiating. Military
rites will be provided.
Those wishing to attend the service may meet directly at the cemetery.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
