Richard Vandernoot, age 81 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at his home.
Richard was born on October 31, 1941 in New York, NYand was the son of the late Harry Vandernoot and Bertha (Dessaint)
Vandernoot.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Elaine (Sheaffer) Vandernoot in 2006.
Richard is survived by one son, Eric Vandernoot of Manassas, Virginia
Two sisters-in-law, Barbara Soule of Vermont and Carol Sheaffer of Florida
Also several cousins, nieces and nephews survive.
Richard was a graduate of Paul Smiths College in New York with a degree in Forestry. He was employed by the United States
Forest Service and retired after 45 years of service. He was a certified Oil and Gas Resource Specialist and a WV certified Real
EstateAppraiser.
Richard was an Episcopalian by faith and attended Grove Street UM Church in Petersburg, WV.
Inurnment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery beside his wife Judy Sheaffer Vandernoot.
