Elsie B. Terry
Elsie Browne Terry, 74, of Monterey, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Bath County Community Hospital.
Mrs. Terry was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Monterey, and was a daughter of the late G. Jesse and Eunice Lightner Hiner.
She was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church and was involved in real estate sales in Roanoke and Highland County. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Roanoke Elks Club No. 197, the Highland Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Monterey Garden Club.
On Aug. 11, 1955, she married Curtis Terry, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Douglas Herold of Gassaway, W.Va.; two sisters, Joyce Solomon of Hot Springs, and Elizabeth "Bobbie" Hefner of Monterey; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Mike Sullivan will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at the Monterey United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
