Ms. Armetha Josephine Tenney, age 90 of Chatsworth, GA, passed
away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Hamilton Medical Center in
Dalton, GA. Born on December 1, 1932, in Hardy County, WV, she
was a daughter of the late Samuel Nathan Funk and Lillie Agnes Sine
Funk. A grandson, Jason Lynn Holsinger; sisters, Virginia Baldwin and
Geneva Fitzwater and brothers James Funk, Marshall Funk, Junior
Funk, Hartzel Funk and Arlie Funk also preceded her in death.
Armetha was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church, spent numerous
hours crocheting and enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping. She
so enjoyed the vibrant colors of her flower garden, enveloping the
fragrances of their blooms and listening to the quiet buzz of the bees
among the distant chirping birds.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Robert
Flack of Chatsworth, GA and Melody Tenney and Tommy Stoker of
Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Lori Spivey Hill and Melody and Bron
McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Darien Hill, Jaycie Hill, Henley Hill,
Jasa McDaniel, and Jayleigh McDaniel and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, January 14,
2023 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel with Leon Miller & James
Baker officiants. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery,
Mt. Olive Road, Kirby. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM
