Richard Kenneth Swope, 92, of Dayton, passed away Oct. 16, 2023.
He was born August 27, 1931, the son of Frank and Edith (Heatwole) Swope and was a lifelong resident of the Dale Enterprise
Community.
Richard was a retired farmer and had farmed with his brother Roy. He was a member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church and
had attended Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church in earlier years.
Richard married Fay Botkin Rhodes on March 20, 1965, who survives. He is also survived by brother, Roy w. Swope; sister,
Ellen S. Abernethy and husband Bobby; step-children, Debra Rhodes Bosserman and husband Tracy, and Timothy Paul Rhodes
and wife Jennifer; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per Richard's request, all services will be private.
The family would like to thank White Birch Communities and Sentara Hospice for the kind and excellent care that they
provided for Richard.
