CharlesAlbert 'Chuck' Stites, 84, of Earlysville, Virginia transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at
Morningside of Charlottesville with his beloved family by his side.
In addition to his parents, Max Stites and Jane (Steele) Stites Raeuchle, Chuck is preceded in death by his sister
Carolyn (Stites) Harrod.
Chuck leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his children, Bridget Lambert (Keith), Adriane Cosby (James) and Derek
Stites (Rebecca); his ex-wife, Claudia Stites; his sister Jane Raeuchle; his brother William Raeuchle and his 5
grandchildren, Colin Lambert, Oliver Cosby, Elliott Cosby, Landon Stites and Kyla Stites.
Chuck was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 31, 1938 to Max and Jane. He grew up in the small village of South
Vienna, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he fell in love with Germany after being stationed there. He proudly
graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Soon after, he moved with his wife to
Alexandria, Virginia and worked for the Department of Defense until he retired. After retirement he found his way
down to Earlysville, Virginia where he loved walking his dog, driving in the mountains and leading nature tours at Ivy
Creek Natural Area. He also enjoyed helping people, traveling, running, biking, hiking, eagle watching on the Potomac
River, spending time with his family, Formula One racing, making dad jokes, and attending or even coaching his kids’
activities.
Respecting Chuck’s wishes there will be no services at this time.
