Louise C.D. Stetter


Louise C.D. Stetter "Buzz" passed away on March 10, 2006, at Cokesbury Village, Hockessin, Del. at the age of 100. She was a direct descendant of Ezra Cornell, the founder of Cornell University.

Her husband Bruce, a former insurance executive, predeceased her by many years. Mary Wood Whitehurst, a fellow Hollins college graduate, roomed with Louise over 18 years at Cokesbury.

Louise was an active leader in many organizations at Cokesbury, such as the President’s Council, the Great Decision lectures and the groundbreaking for the new Health Center. Also, she enjoyed engaging others in spirited, controversial subjects for the fun of it.

She is survived by W. Davis (Dee) Dechert in Madison, Wis., as well as other relatives in Virginia.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Auditorium at Cokesbury Village, Hockessin.

Donations may be made to Cokesbury Village Health Center Renovation Fund, 726 Loveville Road, Hockessin, DE 19707, or Hollins College, Roanoke, VA 24020.
