Billy Wayne Stanley Sr., 82, of Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at
Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.
He was born on July 31, 1940, in Washington, D.C., and was a son of the late Everett
Vernon Stanley and Juanita June Andrews Stanley.
Billy was a member of the Newport Christian Church.
On Aug. 21, 1964, he married Sandra Faye Dofflemoyer Stanley, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Billy W. Stanley Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.;
a daughter, Melody Comer of Stanley; six grandchildren, Josh, Alana, Teresa, Devin,
Jared and Lil; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Fiona and Tucker. He was
preceded in death by two brothers, James Franklin Stanley Sr. and Junior Stanley;
and four sisters, Ellen Lorraine Presgraves, Margaret Elizabeth Cubbage, Marjorie
Marie Broy and June Presgraves.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Newport
Christian Church by Tracy Shifflett and Pastor Mike Nichols. Burial will be in
Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the church.
