Roger Spears, 59, of Staunton, VA, passed away at home on September 12, 2023 after a long illness; with him was his
fiancée, Laurie and her mother.
Roger grew up in Lambertville, NJ, and settled in Staunton, VAseveral years ago. He worked in the printing business
most of his life.
He was an avid golfer, and loved to play pick-up games of basketball, tennis, any sport with his friends. He loved to watch
all sports, and was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dallas Cowboys. Roger was a member of the Lambertville
Volunteers Drum & Bugle Corps for several years, marching and playing bass drum in parades all over the east coast.
To those that knew Roger, he had a big heart, and would do anything for them.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Cicchino Anthes.
He is survived by his fiancée of 15 years, Laurie Mayall; his sister, Kim Kearns and her husband Eugene "Buddy"; his
niece, Rachel Kushner; step-father, Rick Anthes and his wife, Dottie; several cousins, and one of his longest and closest
friends, Alphonse Inserra.
Roger's fiancée and family would like to thank Hospice of the Shenandoah for the exemplary and loving care.
There are no events planned, as he did not wish to have services.
