George W. Snouffer

George W. Snouffer, 78, of Upper Tract, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at his home.

Mr. Snouffer was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Rockville, Md., and was a son of the late George B. Snouffer and Nellie Ray Snouffer.

He retired from C&P Telephone in 1977 and was a veteran of the Navy. He was a member of Franklin Loyal Order of the Moose No. 769 and the Pendleton Masonic Lodge No. 144 A.F.& A.M.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Sherman Snouffer, whom he married in 1961; four sons, Theron Warner Snouffer of Upper Tract, W.Va., and Jerry Snouffer, Scott Snouffer and Stuart Snouffer, all of Florida; three brothers, John "Jack" Snouffer of Laytonsville, Md., Stanley Snouffer of Gaithersburg, Md., and Robert Snouffer of Woodfield, Md.; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The Rev. Glenn Sites will conduct the funeral 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, W.Va. Burial will be at Kline Cemetery with graveside honors by members of the Pendleton Masonic Lodge No. 144 A.F.&A.M.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
