Wanda shared special bonds with her son-in-law Charlie, her buddy in evening patio chats where they would sit and talk and
stay updated on all things news and weather; her granddaughter Irisa who she referred to as her “Little Red Rooster, partner in
crime, and best friend” (these two ladies were always into something together—too much to list); her grandson-in-law Collin
who was her personal plumber that never cracked under pressure or failed to save the day by bringing her a spontaneous food
craving from her fast food restaurant of choice; her grandson Tyler with whom she had an ongoing “embarrassment duel” where
she enjoyed saying shocking stuff to make him blush; her grandson Chayce who would sit with her for hours to talk about how
her day was and “what she was up to”; her bonus great-grandson Gunnar who would sit with her in her recliner and share her
“special secret snacks”; and her great-grandson Colson who she waited so long for and called her “One and Only Butter Bean”
as he sat on her lap having stare down contests or smiling at her and bouncing. She loved the time spent with these people and
these special activities. These moments were when she was the happiest and her smile was the brightest. Wanda truly loved her
family.
Danielle, Charlie, and Irisa would like to extend special gratitude to the Emergency Department, Inpatient Medical, and The
Shenandoah House staff at Augusta Health for their excellent care of Wanda, to Donald and AngelaArmstrong who provided
extended support so that Wanda’s family could be present with her during her passing, and to all of their friends and family that
have offered words of love, support, and encouragement.
Aprivate service will be held November 11, 2023. Please contact the family for details.
