Juanita R. Shifflett, 77
Juanita Rodgers Shifflett, 77, of Elkton, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Avante of Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Shifflett was born June 18, 1928, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Osby and Lillie Frazier.
She had worked at Super Fresh in Harrisonburg and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Avis O. Comer VFW Post No. 8613 in Shenandoah, and the Blue Ridge Independent Church.
Two husbands, Chester Rodgers and Joe Shifflett, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Rolland Rodgers of Port Republic; a daughter, Carolyn Whitmore of Dayton; three brothers, James Frazier of Elkton, Arnold Frazier of Richmond and Buster Frazier of Lexington; two half-brothers, A.C. Jenkins of Elkton and Larry Jenkins of Grottoes; three half-sisters, Judy Shirey of Harrisonburg, Joyce McAlister of Clover Hill and Janet Jenkins of Staunton, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Gerald Meeks will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Ridge Independent Church in Elkton. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the Shifflett home in the evening until 8 p.m.
