William (Bill) Henry Schafer Jr., passed away on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022.
Bill was a resident of Greenville Virginia, but was a previous resident of Whippany, Nj.
Bill was born in Cranford, NJ, on April 13th, 1937, to the late William H. and Ruth (Mackenzie) Schafer.
He worked as an electrician, and was a 67-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 164 in
New Jersey. His hobbies and interests included motorcycles, lapidary, and woodworking. An avid muzzleloader, Bill enjoyed
participating in living history events with the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, of which he was a lifelong member.
Bill was predeceased by his brothers Richard and James Schafer and is survived by his wife Lila M. (Becker) Schafer of Greenville,
VA, daughter and son-in law Elizabeth R. (Schafer) and Daniel R. Norton of Fredericksburg, VA, sister Barbara (Schafer) Getty of
Metuchen, NJ, sister-in-law Darlene Stricker of Hazlet, NJ, and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA)
