Melissa McClelland Rowles, ,69, of Woodstock, passed away on October 20, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center. She was born
January 18, 1954, at Quantico Marine Base to Robert Kinter McClelland, Sr. and Mary G. McMillin McClelland.
Melissa graduated from Central High School in 1972. In 1976 she graduated from NVCC in the Physical Therapist Assistant
Program.
She was a PTA for 46 years while working at Fairfax Hospital, Warrenton Hospital, and Shenandoah Memorial Hospital treating
in patients, out patients, and her favorite, Home Health patients.
She enjoyed singing, reading, and walking her dog, Brody.
In 1977, she married Sherman “Rick” Rowles and was married just shy of 46 years.
Melissa is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stephens (Jon), her son, Samuel Kinter Rowles, Sr. (Megan), and four
grandchildren, Lilly Sue Rowles, Emma Grace Stephens, Samuel Kinter Rowles, Jr., and Jonathan Andrew Stephens, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on November 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Doug Frazier
will officiate. Fellowship will follow the service.
Burial will be private.
