Dwight Wayne Powell, 63, husband of Shirley H. Powell of Mary Gray Lane, Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, September
20, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Powell was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on May 19, 1960 a son of the late Bertie Louise Powell.
Dwight was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and had recently retired from LYCRAwith 34 years of service.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his in-laws, Samuel and Virginia Harris.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 40 years, are two daughters, Danielle R. Hill and her husband, Antjuan of San Antonio, TX
and Lindsey N. Howard and her husband, Tory of Oklahoma City, OK; the true joys of his life, his six grandchildren,Amaya
and Deshawn Hill, and Aaliyah, Aubrey, Aria, and Miles Howard; a sister-in-law, Becky George and her husband, David; and
many special cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and
Crematory.
Acelebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by
Pastor Luke B. Smith.
Burial will follow in Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be James Wright, Bo Parr, DonnieArnold, Josh Dodson, Deric Zwart, and Chris Sprouse.
