Charles C. Oates Jr.

Charles "Skip" Calvin Oates Jr., 40, of 140 U.S. Highway 340, Luray, died Monday, July 21, 2003.

Mr. Oates was born Oct. 24, 1962, in West Virginia, and was a son of the late Charles Calvin Oates and Linda Chamberlain Oates of Cambridge, Ohio.

He was the owner and operator of Oates Trucking.

On Jan. 19, 1994, he married Robin Doreen Gochenour, who survives.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Elaine Oates and Sarah Elizabeth Oates, both of Luray, and Alana Schairer of Cambridge, Ohio; a son, Jace Charles Oates of Luray; and three sisters, Nora Shaffer of Luray, Amy Havalin of Key West, Fla., and Jill Oates of Cambridge, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.
