James Sloane Novak, 76, of Sunnybank, died peacefully on September 7, 2023 with his two favorite women by his side:
his wife, Anne, and his daughter, Jess.
He is also survived by his devoted brother-in-law, Bob Montgomery; his beautiful service dog, Finn; and his dear friends,
including David Duani, J. and Beth Mahood, and Rob Vincent, among many others.
He loved dogs, women, and horses — not necessarily in that order.
Amemorial service will be held in his honor at 2 p.m. on September 23rd at Hill & Wood Funeral Home in
Charlottesville. We invite you to make a donation to Paws with a Cause or Sentara Martha Jefferson Cancer Care Center
to celebrate his memory.
