Russell Dean Newland, 75, of Luray, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1947, in Pendleton, Ore., and was a son of the late George
William Newland and Nellie Chard Newland Bitzer.
Russell was a production manager for Glaize Components of Winchester.
On Nov. 30, 1988, he married Bessie Mae Cubbage Newland, who died on Oct. 25,
2020.
He is survived by a son, James Dean Newland of Monmouth, Ore.; a stepson, Gerald
Dodson of Luray; a brother, Stan Newland of Newberg, Ore.; two sisters, Dorothy
May Skeers of Pleasant Hill, Ore., and Celia Louise Clark of Rusk, Texas; two
grandchildren, Gerald Dodson Jr. of Front Royal, and Krystal Dodson of Luray; and
two great-grandchildren, Rayann and Rayla Sisk of Luray. He was preceded in death
by a sister, Helen Teal; and two brothers, Charles Eugene Newland and John Edward
Newland.
Services are planned for a later date. Bradley Funeral Home
