Hester V. Newhouse, 91


Hester Virginia Newhouse, 91, of Holly Avenue in Moorefield, W.Va., died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at Reeder’s Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Mrs. Newhouse was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Bass, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Glaspy V. and Josephine Southerly Wolfe.

She was a member of Bass United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Leck” Newhouse, in April 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Byrd of Martinsburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

Pastor Judy Vetter will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va. Burial will follow at the Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
