Louis Jacob (L.J.) Neff, 58, of Woodstock, lost his battle with cancer surrounded by
his family at his childhood home on November 8, 2022. The funeral service will be
held Friday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church in Edinburg. Burial
will follow in Saumsville Cemetery.
Mr. Neff was born April 28, 1964 in Woodstock, son of Marie Frye Neff of
Maurertown and the late Louis Neff Jr. He was a 1983 graduate of Central High
School and employed for the Town of Woodstock for over 26 years. He was a
member of Valley Baptist Church and former volunteer with Woodstock Fire
Department.
Surviving, along with his mother, are his wife, Catherine Taylor Neff; sister, Julia
Sager Mohn (Jon) of Saratoga, CA; two brothers, Carl Neff of Maurertown and
Daniel Neff (Carla) of Lexington, SC.
Pallbearers will be Carl and Daniel Neff, Jon Mohn, Matt Wright, Cody Ryman and
Mike Copp.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service in
Edinburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodstock Vol. Fire Department or
Blue Ridge Hospice.
L.J. was dedicated to his Lord and his family, and never met a stranger. He will be
greatly missed by all that knew him.
