Donald S. Morris

Donald "Donnie" S. Morris, 45, a resident of 5782 Sky Road, Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, from injuries sustained in a farming accident.

Mr. Morris was born June 11, 1956, in Rockingham County, and was a son of Julian H. Morris of Harrisonburg, and the late Goldie Miller Morris.

He was a 1974 graduate of Broadway High School. He spent his life farming on the Twin Hill Dairy Farm where he was a partner, and in recent years farmed with two of his brothers. He was devoted to his family, friends, the farm and his church. He was an active member of the Greenmount Church of the Brethren where he was a welcoming usher and was one of the first to greet people every Sunday for many years.

On July 22, 1984, he married the former Karen Scott, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are four brothers, William Morris and wife Virginia; Karol Morris; Julian H. Morris Jr. and his wife Linda, all of Harrisonburg; Bobby Morris and wife Linda, Broadway; four sisters, Janet Wolverton and husband Donnie; Betty Ann Spitler and husband J.P.; Brenda McMullen and husband Bill; Patty Stover and husband Dennis; all of Harrisonburg; mother and father-in-law Melvin and Jean Scott, Harrisonburg; and a number of nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Rev. Dennis L. Brown and Wendell "Sonny" Henkel will conduct a funeral service Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Greenmount Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 8 at the McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg.
