Susan M. Moore, 52


Susan Myers Moore, 52, of Haymarket, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at her home.

Mrs. Moore was born Oct. 5, 1954, in Shenandoah County, and was a daughter of the late Linden and Irene Sellers Myers.

She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School and earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Virginia Tech. She taught elementary school in Fauquier County for almost 30 years. She was a former president of the local Alpha Delta Kappa Chapter and was a member of the Warrenton United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Bell Choir.

Survivors include her husband, John G. Moore Jr.; two daughters, Jessie Moore Rutland of St. Augustine, Fla., and Katie Moore of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Dave Myers of Edinburg and W.T. Myers of New Market, and a sister, Janie Beall of Mount Jackson.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the Warrenton United Methodist Church, 341 Church St. in Warrenton.

The Rev. Jeffrey Sonafelt will conduct a graveside service 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, East Lee Street in New Market.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave. in Warrenton.
