Harlan L. Mitchell


Mr. Harlan Lank Mitchell, 83, of Sugar Grove, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his home.

He was born March 6, 1929, at Moyers, W.Va., and was the son of the late Whitney Olen Mitchell and Beulah Grace Propst Mitchell.

He was a farmer and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Harlan was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Military Police in Korea, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Harlan; his wife, Diana Lynn, of Strasburg; and two granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth Mitchell and Abby Lynn Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by one infant son.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church at Moyers, W.Va., with the Revs. Wendy and Craig Richter officiating.

Burial will be at the St. John Church Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour at 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church. Friends may call anytime on Friday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
