Nannette Miller, of Mt. Jackson, VAdied September 18,2023. She was born June 22, 1938, in Shenandoah County, and
was a daughter of the late Paul Eugene and Mildred Bowman Miller.
Ms. Miller graduated from Triplett High School in 1956, and R.M.H. School of Nursing in 1959. She was a registered
nurse and worked at Rockingham Memorial Hospital for 19 years in staff and supervisory positions. The last 30 years of
her nursing career were spent at James Madison University as a staff nurse at the Health Center. She retired from JMU in
2008.
She was a lifelong member of Walker's Chapel Church of the Brethren in Mt. Jackson.
She loved her home, family, extended family and community. She appreciated opportunities to use her nursing skills to
serve others. Many folks were recipients of her generosity and kindness.
Surviving are a sister, Mildred M. Miller of Jerome, VA, sisters -in-law: Wanda K. Miller ofAbingdon VA; and Slavicia
Miller of Frankfurt, Germany. Also surviving are a number of beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews,
great-great nieces and nephews, and cherished cousins.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: John B. Miller, Frank E. Miller, Richard D. Miller Edward N. Miller, a sister,
Vera M.Woodzell, and her best friend and sister-in-law, Jeanette Miller.
The family would like to thank Sandy Ortts for her devotion to our aunt over the last 5 years. We would also like to
recognize the staffs at Shenandoah Terrace, and at LifeCare for their care and dedication during her illness.
Rev. William L. Zirk will conduct the service at Walker’s Chapel Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m. Monday, September 25.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery; Conicville Rd. Mt.Jackson, Va.
