Delores B. Maus , 80


Delores B. Maus, 80, a resident of Harrisonburg, died April 12, 2011, at Bridgewater Home, where she had been a resident for several weeks.

Mrs. Maus was born April 1, 1931, in Brandywine, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Willie and Flossie Nesselrodt Bolton.

She graduated from Linville-Edom High School in 1949. She volunteered at Mount Clinton Elementary School and was a homemaker. She also worked as a switchboard operator at James Madison University, Shenandoah Valley Electric and Rockingham Memorial Hospital until 2002. She was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren, where she had served as secretary/treasurer of the church and had been an active member as long as her health allowed.

On Aug. 30, 1951, she married George "Vic" Maus, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Vicky Lynn Rittenhouse and husband, Jon, of Harrisonburg; three brothers, Randy Bolton and wife, Margaret, of Harrisonburg, Gail Bolton and wife, Linda, of Verona and Darrell Bolton and wife, Pat, of Richmond; two sisters, Thelma Reich and husband, Jack, of Florida, and Roberta Cline of Harrisonburg; and two grandsons, Daniel Rittenhouse and Matthew Rittenhouse.

One brother, Nathan Bolton, preceded her in death.

The Rev. Walt Crull will conduct a graveside service Friday, April 15, 2011, at Greenmount Cemetery at 11 a.m.

The body was cremated.
