Irene M. Mason

Irene Mae Mason, 30, of Rawley Springs, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born Jan. 1, 1974, in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of William Grogg Jr. of Rawley Springs and Victoria Thompson Smith of Arizona.

She was employed at McDonald’s on South Main St. in Harrisonburg where she had worked for the past 6 years and had also been employed at Rockingham Memorial Hospital for the past 2 years. She had previously attended Vero Beach Alliance Church in Vero Beach, Fla.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Samuel Mason of Florida; a son, Samuel Mason Jr., a daughter, Diane Marie Mason, both at home; four sisters, Debra Baker of Harrisonburg, Shana Hendrix, Tiffany Hendrix and Xena Erica Hendrix, all at home; three brothers, William L. Grogg of Brandywine, W.Va., Jennings S. Grogg of Broadway, Jeremy W. Grogg at home; a step-mother, Debbie J. Grogg of Rawley Springs; grandparents, Ruth Thompson and Lewis Thompson; William Grogg Sr.; Irene Pennington; Maggie See; a step-grandmother, Mary A. Judy; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at the Rawley Springs Mennonite Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
