Margaret Elizabeth Liptrap, 100, widow of John Lusby Liptrap, passed away on January 10, 2023, at
her residence in Stuarts Draft.
Margaret was born on September 5, 1922, in Augusta County to Howard Virgil and Lillian Pearl
Sheffer Malcom.
Margaret was the oldest current member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Fay Bush and her husband Jon, and Carol Lynn Sprouse
and her husband Wallace; her granddaughters, Holly Bush Spohnholz and her husband Steven, and
Kelly Susan Hofmann; a grandson, Sean Sprouse and his wife Allison; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Law
Liptrap; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Kayla Spohnholz.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Lusby Liptrap; her son,
Ronnie Kent Liptrap; and her siblings, Betty Jean Thompson, Howard Junior Malcom, and Gerald
Luther Malcom.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 13, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 563 Bethel
Green Rd., Staunton, Virginia 24401 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Daniel Thomas officiating. Henry
Funeral Home
