Edna J. Kimble

Edna Jane Landes Kimble, 93, Maysville, W.Va., died Jan. 16, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Kimble was born July 23, 1909, in Landes, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Elmer Landes and Alice Jane Helmick Landes.

She attended Falls Assembly of God Church.

She married Leslie Brison Kimble, who died Oct. 28, 1985.

Surviving are four sons, Ora "Bill" Kimble of Petersburg, W.Va., Dewey Kimble of Moorefield, W.Va., Wayne Kimble of Maysville, W.Va., and James Kimble of Arthur, W.Va.; three daughters, Lois VanMeter of Cabins, W.Va., Juanita Evans of Maysville, W.Va., and Phyllis Jane Sites of Petersburg, W.Va.; a half brother, Billy Landes of Puerto Rico; 27 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

The Rev. Stanley Kile and Pastor Lynn Durbin will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery in Lahmansville, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of choice.
