classmateswhoworkedandthosewhoattendedthereunions. Heservedin theArmyNational Guard, 133rd Ordinance,
Peekskill, N.Y., and Aberdeen ProvingGrounds, Md. Hecompletedhis undergraduate studiesat New YorkUniversityArts
andScience concentratingin bio-chem.,math, German andspeech;his graduatedegrees werea Master’sDegreein
Science Education and ProfessionalDiplomain EducationalAdministration. WhileatNYUhewaspresident oftheLutheran
Cluband he wascoordinatorof activitiesforall theNYC’sLutheran CollegeClubs. Hewasa memberof asocialfraternity.
Hetaughtmathematicsand science at theformerLakeland JuniorHighSchool, Mohegan Lake, N.Y.,and asclassroom
teacherand chairperson at SleepyHollowHighSchool Tarrytown/SleepyHollow, N.Y., hewashonored withreceivinga
dedicationoftheschool’s 1972yearbook. Hereceived astudysabbaticaland retired in1995, aftera careerof35years. He
wasactivein education organizations, Tarrytown, SleepyHollowenvironmentalcouncils, SleepyHollowConcert
Association, editedhishomeowner’snewsletters,and in localrealestate.On August 29, 1965hemarried DianeL. Brown at
St. AndrewLutheran Church, Yorktown Heights, N.Y. Theyweremarried36years untilherdeathin 2002. Phillip is survived
bytwosons, Scott (Nan), and Keith,(Elizabeth); and grandchildren, Leo, Trevor, and Paige. Hevaluedhis bordercollie’s
loyalty, andthatofhisLakeMonticellofriends. Privateburialofcrematedremainsoccurredat HillsideCemetery, Cortlandt
