Dean Grogg, 47


Dean Grogg, 47, of 3039 Kerns Road, Dayton, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident.

Mr. Grogg was born Jan. 24, 1960, in Rockingham County, and was a son of Doris Hartman Hoover of Dayton and the late Robert Hoover.

He was a foreman at Systems 2 and was employed at Wampler Foods for many years in the past.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Cindy Rodeffer Grogg; a daughter, Chandy Thompson of Harrisonburg; a son, Scotty Grogg of Dayton; a brother, Willy Hoover of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Angie Hoover Harper of Dayton and Robin Neives of Harrisonburg; his grandmother, Dolly Moyers of Dayton; and six grandchildren.

The Revs. Laney Knight and James Knight will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Friday at the McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at the Clover Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
