Geneva L. "Peggy" Gleaton of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023
at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service for Peggy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2023
at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Howard officiating. Peggy will
be laid to rest in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock, VA.
Peggy's nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8
p.m.
Peggy was born in Accokeek, Maryland on June 14, 1932 a daughter of the late
Addie Middletown Jenkins Wymer and the late John W. Jenkins, Sr. She was a
member of the Strasburg Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school
teacher, circle chairman, and Elder, and on occasion the gospel granny. Peggy
worked as a cashier at the Hi Neighbor Restaurant and Bobby's Family
Restaurant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father
David Earl Wymer; her husband Cecil Gleaton; sisters Louise Pickeral, Eunice
Ferguson, Bertha Manuel and a brother Johnny Jenkins.
Survivors include her children Gary Stephen Gleaton (Donna), John David Gleaton
(Paula), Ricky Ray Bowley (Tara), and Amanda Sue Hoffman (Robert); five
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and
cousins.

Strasburg, VA 22657.
