Hewent ontopitchforTrinityCollegein Hartford, Conn. Kevin wasa natural athletewhowasfit andactivehis entirelifeand continuedtoamaze withhisendurance and strengthright to theend. Aftercollege, Kevin becamethe westcoast salesmanagerforLoebRhoadesin Californiaandremainedtherefor20years beforereturningtoNew YorkCityin1983. In morerecent years, Kevin wasa market strategist for theLCP Group.L.P. Kevin wascreativeand inventive. Hewasanaccomplishedplaywrightandproducer, author, andactor. Histruepassion wasphotography. Manyofhis photographsgracedthecoverofTheRyeRecord. Healsohelped aspiringlocal photographersbecomeaccomplishedones. Hewasremarkablyauthentic and genuinethroughouthis life, even inhis last days. Kevin wasmeticulousin hisdress andalways agentleman. His intellectualcuriosity, engaging personality, and almost rigiddaily routinesat Starbucks, Poppy’sand theTown Dock, madehim affectionatelywell known in Rye, wherehelived for31years. (Hisdailyroutineincluded6-mile walksin theNaturalParkand WildlifeSanctuary.) Thosetraits carried over tothecommunityatBrookdaleStaunton wherehewasloved despitehisbrieftimeasaresident. His popularitythere grew when thestaff of Brookdaleshowedamovie in whichKevin appearedin 2012. His familywill beforevergratefulto Brookdale’s exceptionalstafffortheirdevotiontoKevin. Kevinis survivedbyhis sister, Cris SterlingofNaturalBridge,Va. andanephew, Duncan SterlingIV of Charleston, S.C. Acelebration of Kevin’slifewill beheld3:00pm December13in his sister’s home, 2606Plank Road, NaturalBridge. Followingthecelebration service, amealwillbeenjoyedbythosewhogather.
