Darlis Donald "Don" Gault, 95, of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
He was born on January 19, 1928 and was a son of the late John D. and Vivian (Kelley) Gault.
Don had retired from Rockingham National Bank. He was a member of the Dayton United Methodist Church. He served his
country in the US Navy, during World War II and Korea. He was a member of Rockingham Union Masonic Lodge #27 A.F. &
A.M.
Don was united in marriage on December 27, 1947 to Wanda Lorine (Kite) Gault who preceded him in death on September 20,
2023.
Surviving are his daughters, Diane Estes, of Bridgewater, Cynthia Shank and husband David, of Mount Crawford; seven
grandchildren, Kellie Simmons and husband Jeff, Brian Estes and wife Lisa, Lindsay Li and husband Andrew, Joshua Shank and
wife Sarah, Benjamin Shank and wife Nadine, Nathaniel Shank, and Caleb Shank and wife Rana, 12 great grandchildren, Hailey
Puffenbarger and husband Justin, Hunter Simmons and wife Tiffany, Hope Warner and husband Cody, Bethany Estes, Noah
Estes, Zion Estes, Elijah Estes, Micah Shank, Laela Shank, Ciaran Li, Finley Li, and Aiden Shank; two great-great grandsons,
Reid and Luke Puffenbarger.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gary Estes; siblings, Bernard Kelley, Dorothy McCellan, John Gault, Milton Gault
Arlis Gault, Peggy Bowen and Martha Madura.
Aservice celebrating Don's life will be held on October 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Service in
Bridgewater with Rev. Steve Bird officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
