Douglas R. Frye Sr., 67


Douglas Roger Frye Sr., 67, of Harrisonburg, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Life Care Center of New Market.

Mr. Frye was born April 18, 1940, in Bristol and was a son of the late John A. Frye Sr. and Mattie Woodard Frye.

He worked for Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Sewer Authority and was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market.

Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Frye Bushong of Harrisonburg; two sons, Douglas R. Frye Jr. of Harrisonburg and Nathan C. Frye of Merced, Calif.; two brothers, Raymond Lloyd Frye of Fredericksburg and Lucious C. Frye of New Market; two sisters, Virginia Frye Hodge of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Alice Frye Benten of Woodbridge, and five grandchildren.

Pastor Jeffrey Sonafelt will conduct a memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Reformation Lutheran Church.

His body was cremated.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
