Robbie Gill (McLaughlin) Faris, 93, of Dayton passed away, Thursday, January 12,
2023 at Bridgewater Home.
She was born in Dayton on February 16, 1929, the daughter of the late HunterAubrey
and Marjorie May (McNeal) McLaughlin.
Ahomemaker, Mrs. Faris worked in Charlotte, N.C. alongside of her husband as
bookkeeper in their international trade business.Additionally, she enjoyed revitalizing
houses for resale and became an accomplished real estate investor. She enjoyed oil
painting, playing piano as well as time spent at her condo at Myrtle Beach and fishing
with her son, both in his youth and later in life.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Mohaamad “Mike” H.
Faris; two brothers, Winston “Wink” McLaughlin and Norwood McLaughlin.
She is survived by her children from her first marriage, Cynthia Phillips of Stanfield,
N.C., and Wes Maupin and wife, Kieren Covert of McDowell; son, David Faris and
wife, Lisa of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as
one great-great-grandchild.
Agraveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023 in Dayton
Cemetery with pastor Russ Barb officiating.
