William F. Evick, 75
William Frederick Evick, 75, of Franklin, W.Va., died Monday, July 7, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Evick was born May 29, 1933, in Franklin, W.Va., and was the son of the late William Fred and Mary Edith Hoover Evick.
He was a retired inspector with the West Virginia Department of Highways and a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Smith Creek Church of the Brethren.
He was married to Vada A. Alt Evick, who survives in Franklin, W.Va.
Also surviving are three sons, Billy Evick and Bobby Evick, both of Franklin, W.Va., and Bradley Evick of Harrisonburg; two sisters, mary Keplinger of Newart, Del., and Jody Olkowski of Wilmington, Del.; four brothers, Charles Bennie Evick, Ernest Cody Evick and Buddy Lee Evick, all of Franklin, W.Va., and Richard Franklin Evick of Harrisonburg, and seven grandchildren.
Pastor Steve Teter will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Friday from the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, W.Va. Burial with military graveside services by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, the Pendleton County Rescue Squads or Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
