Joyce H. Drechsler, 82


Joyce H. Drechsler, 82, a resident of the Bridgewater Home, died July 3, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Miss Drechsler was born on April 4, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Ritson Drechsler. She had lived in the area for about six years. She was employed with the railroad system for many years and later worked as a switchboard operator for Southern Connecticut University. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her brother, Robert W. Drechsler, preceded her in death.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Janice Lee Drechsler of Bridgewater; one nephew, Robert Michael Drechsler of Richmond; and one niece, Margaret Sisler of Harrisonburg.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, Conn.

Friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg Saturday.
