Malcolm 'Mac' Bernard Craun, 89, a lifelong resident of Mt. Sidney, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his home.
He was born on March 29, 1934 in Waynesboro, and was the son of the late Arthur B. and Helen Ocheltree Craun.
Mac was a 1952 graduate of Mt. Sidney High School and he served in the US Army from 1952 until 1954, during the
Korean War. He was employed with ASR, earned his Tool and Die Journeyman certificate, and worked third shift for
35 years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of Lebanon Church of the Brethren. He loved farming and
bowling, he bowled in local and national leagues for 46 years.
n October 10, 1997, he married Nancy I. Rogers, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2023. They enjoyed
traveling and visited 48 states and Canada together.
His children, Mark Craun and wife, Robin, of New Hope, Sharleen Booth of Waynesboro, Marvin Thorne and wife,
Brenda, of Staunton and Denise T. Cline of Burlington, WV; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, survive
him.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sons-in-law, Donnie Booth and Patrick Cline.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Weyers Cave with
Rev. Matthew Atlee officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will
receive friends one hour prior to the service.
