Thelma L. Cochran
Mrs. Thelma Leone Cochran, 95, of Grottoes, formerly of Covington, passed from death to life on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Thomas Lawrence Cochran.
Mrs. Cochran was born July 22, 1916, in Elkins, W.Va., the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Lantz and Bertha Lewis Lantz. She was a loving person who was well-liked in her community and gave of herself. Of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Cochran was a firm believer in Christ and was a child of God.
Mrs. Cochran is survived by one son, Richard Eugene Cochran of Bumpass; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Daos of Virginia Beach; one brother, Richard Lantz of Morris Hill; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Cochran; one son, Glenn Cochran; six sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Cornerstone Church By The Lake in Harrisonburg. A visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. until service time at the church.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Milford Lyndaker officiating, assisted by Eugene Souder. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
