Randy Charles Carr, recently of Bridgewater, but born a native of Broadway passed away Wednesday, the 20th of September,
2023.
He was the son of the late Benjamin H. Carr, Sr. Surviving are his loving mother; Charlotte C. Carr, brother; Benjamin Carr, Jr.
son; Colton Carr, nephew; Brody Carr, stepfather; Buzzy Taylor and constant companion; Rosey, his beloved dog.
Randy graduated from Broadway High School and James Madison University. He began his professional life as a cellular phone
salesman with and the face of Cellular One in Harrisonburg. He later transitioned to selling real estate with Old Dominion
Realty until his passing.
Randy never met a stranger and was widely known for his honesty and hard-work ethic. No matter how badly he felt or how
much he was personally struggling, he always had a smile and kind word for those in his life. Randy will always be
remembered on the birthdays of his friends and acquaintances, because he would call each and every one of them to sing Happy
Birthday. Randy would give someone the shirt of his back if he felt they needed it, and he had far too many friends to mention
here. The family sends its sincere gratefulness and gratitude to all those who donated their time and resources to Randy in
recent years. Those friends literally helped Randy survive in so many different ways.
Randy courageously battled a severe and debilitating Crohn’s disease for over 40 years. He heroically fought and clawed for
every minute of life and his will to live inspired many, especially those in his family. He was truly a warrior. His infectious
positivity and ability to smile back at an unforgiving life will be missed and remembered for lifetimes.
Aprivate graveside service will be held at Mtn. Grove Cemetery in Fulks Run.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. The casket will be closed.
Providing cellular service at the private graveside service, a livestream will be available through the Grandle Funeral Home
Facebook page beginning around 1:55 PM on Tuesday. If there is no cellular service, the service will be recorded and posted
following the service to the Grandle Funeral Home Facebook page via YouTube.
