Patti Ann Burner, 70, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, peacefully at her home.
Mrs. Burner was born January 10, 1953, in Page County and was the daughter of the late Clyde Edward and Gladys Beylor
Rowe. On December 20, 1974 she married Paul Burner, who survives. Also surviving are a son Daniel Heath Burner; daughters
Heather Burner Sours, Katie Gochenour and husband, Brandon; a brother Dwight “Ikey” Rowe; grandchildren, Lauren, Chloe,
Aleigha, and Deacon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Burner.
Patti graduated from Luray High School in 1971. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Paul D. Burner Contracting. Patti
was a secretary for the Page News and Courier and retired after 14 years of service. Patti and her husband operated Burner’s
Mountain Lodge; she enjoyed welcoming guests to their family cabin to enjoy the beauty of the Page Valley.
Patti dedicated her life to her family. She volunteered her time with the numerous activities her children were involved in
including Luray Little League and high school sports. She was the mom and grandma who was always willing to host a pool
party. Patti loved puzzles, crafting, walking the Luray Greenway, gardening, and canning vegetables and fruits from her garden.
In 1983, she discovered her true passion in clogging. Patti was a founding member of the Shenandoah Valley Cloggers. For 40
years, she was dedicated and committed to clogging. She loved all the “girls” dearly and valued their friendship.
