Doris Suter Bumbaugh, 97, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at her home.
Mrs. Bumbaugh was born on December 6, 1924, in Rockingham, VA, to the late Jacob Clarence and Mary Frances Shank
Suter. Mrs. Bumbaugh was a 1941 graduate of Eastern Mennonite School. Until her retirement in 1999, she worked at Weaver
Hatchery and was a secretary, holding positions at Mennonite Property Aid Plan for 17 years, Harrisonburg Baptist Church for 15
years. Mrs. Bumbaugh lived in Park View for all her life and was a charter member of Park View Mennonite Church. She was an
excellent cook and loved tending to her garden and flowers, which she maintained to furnish alter arrangements at the church
for many years.
On June 18, 1947, she was married to Mark Bumbaugh, who preceded her in death on August 11, 2005.
Mrs. Bumbaugh is survived by her son, Philip Bumbaugh; sisters-in-law, Geneva Suter, Isabel M. Bumbaugh; and her cats,
Ernie and Sparky.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bumbaugh was preceded in death by an infant son in 1955, Mark
Bumbaugh, Jr; and her siblings, Eldon Suter, Raymond Suter, and Jay Suter.
