Leola Belle Bruce, 95, of Lyndhurst, Virginia, died on September 23rd, 2023, at Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 28, 1927, in Nelson County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John Everett Phillips and Sadie Love
Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Walton Bruce; sons Fred Bruce Jr. and
Lanny Duane Phillips; sistersAnita Campbell and Lillie Phillips; and brothers Cheetwood Phillips, John Phillips, and Robert
“Buck” Phillips.
Leola Bruce is survived by her grandson, Landon Phillips; and great grandchildren Jasmine Phillips, Miakota Phillips, Joseph
Phillips of Lyndhurst Virginia.
Agraveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2023, at Prize Hill Cemetery in Free Union, Va., with Chaplain
Stephen Mathis officiating.
